    Maintenance Notes:

This is a wonderful annual Salvia (except in frost free zones, where it is perennial) compact and richly colored it is easy and trouble free. It is sterile so it will not set seed and that means it will just bloom, and bloom and bloom all season without stopping.

You can easily trim to keep the shape or size where you want it, and it will branch out and become even thicker and more full of flowers.

Regular watering and fertilizing will keep the plant at maximum color and growth but it is amazingly tough and once established in a pot of the garden will tolerate lower levels of food and water. However, severe drought will cause lower leaves to drop and if this happens give it a quick haircut removing the upper 1/3 of growth and once it back to normal watering it will fill back in.

    • Lovely plant! Bloomed all summer and made it through the heat and drought of the summer. I moved it indoors and plan on wintering it over. Wish me luck. I’ll update you in the spring.

    • This salvia has performed very well for me. It suffered some during our July and August heat and humidity here in North Alabama. In September we had some cooler Temps and it has flushed out beautifully. We are now at the first of November and it is full of blooms. We are supposed to have a freeze this weekend. I will miss seeing these lovely blooms in the flower bed outside my dining room window!

    • The photos above just do not do this plant justice! I saw these in our local garden center and they stopped me right where I was! Planted for about 2 weeks now and have grown already! Very beautiful! In a flower bed that is being created a few plants at a time. Currently paired with 2 Hybrid Tea Roses, a lemon princess spirea, Denim n Lace Russian Sage, Sweet Romance Lavender, and Limelight Hydrangea. We plan to add Pearl Glam Beautyberry, pink Quince, Artemisia, Annas magic ball evergreen, and a few other annual and perennials. CAN'T WAIT to see this bed filled out in all its beauty! As this is an annual fo rme in zone 7b, i plan to replant it year after year! Such amazing color you simply must see in person.

    • I have two of these as thrillers in large planters. They are excellent growers, and the hummingbirds, butterflies, clearwings, and bees love them.

    • The hummingbirds like this plant so much the plant cant keep up with them. I need to plant more of these in pots on my balcony next year so they don't fight. I have a red salvia right next to it that they all but ignore this year and it produces way more flowers. They will use the lantana somewhat, but i feel like this plant cant produce flowers fast enough to feed them all they want, ;/

    • This plant has been amazing performer! Such vigor and such a beautiful, glowing color! Pollinators and hummingbirds seem to love it too. This is one of the best new plants I have grown in years. I hope Proven Winners continue to develop and produce outstanding selections of salvias for salvias and hummingbirds!
