    Features

Supertunia petunias are vigorous with slightly mounded habits that function as both fillers and spillers in containers, making this pink and white petunia a versatile garden plant. These supertunia flowers create a colorful display with medium to large blooms and the distinctive look of a star pattern petunia. They are also excellent landscape plants, best suited to be placed near the front of beds where this trailing petunia plant can spread and fill space. They have medium to large flowers. Gardeners often choose this pink and white petunia for containers and beds because supertunia flowers provide long-lasting seasonal color.

    Uses Notes:

Use this pink and white petunia in hanging baskets, window boxes, landscaping and combination planters. The spreading habit makes it an attractive trailing petunia plant for container displays. Many gardeners enjoy pairing supertunia flowers with other annuals, and the distinctive blooms of this star pattern petunia provide eye-catching contrast in mixed plantings.

    Maintenance Notes:

These are heat tolerant plants, that aren't particularly fussy and need little routine maintenance. This pink and white petunia will perform best if an application of controlled release fertilizer is included at the time of planting. This applies to both landscape and container plantings.

Supertunias are heavy feeders, but a single dose is usually sufficient for landscape beds in most climates. If you have a very long season, a second application of controlled release plant food should be considered for landscape plantings. In general, containers need to be fed more than landscape plants. Supertunias in containers will need to be fed more regularly to keep these supertunia flowers be their absolute best.

A second application of a controlled release fertilizer can be applied about every two months to container plants, which will help. However, for the very best performance I find regularly applying water soluble fertilizer starting about two months after the containers are planted gives the best results. These extra applications of plant food really makes a difference in performance through the summer for this trailing petunia plant.

If your plant begins to look open or a bit tired, an allover trim can be beneficial.  Use a sharp pair of scissors or pruning shears to trim back up to 1/3 of the volume of the plant. I pair any trim with a dose of water soluble fertilizer to provide instant energy to help kickstart new growth, branching and flowering on this pink and white petunia. Your plant will take a week to recover from the trim, but the end result is a fuller plant with more blooms going forward, especially with this striking star pattern petunia. You may repeat the trim as needed through the season.

    • This is an outstanding vigorous plant. I used it in both a hanging basket and container. It is mid September here in southern Ontario and this plant is still going strong.

    • I grew these last year. I liked them so well I went on the search and got 14 more for this year. They aren't as aggressive as Bubblegums which is what I wanted. LOVE, love, love them!!

    • I grew Lovie Dovie for the first time this year. I bought four plants and put two each into two 12" hanging pots in a sunny area. They grew rapidly and soon were cascading down the sides of the pots. I have made sure to keep them watered and I fertilize weekly. They have a very attractive growth habit and are constantly covered with blooms. We are halfway into September now and had our first frost last night, but they still look very good. I am very pleased with them.
